The Experience
Migratory bird hunting is a Texas tradition — and Lone Oak Adventures delivers it the right way. From opening day dove fields packed with birds to early-morning duck blinds with decoys working in the fog, our migratory bird hunts are some of the most exciting and social hunts we offer.
Dove season kicks off September 1st and sets the tone for the entire hunting year. Our sunflower and grain fields draw birds from miles around, and afternoons in the field with good friends and a cooler full of birds are what Texas hunting is all about.
As the season progresses, teal and then ducks begin moving through. We hunt flooded fields, stock tanks, and creek bottoms with full decoy spreads and trained retrievers. Whether you're a seasoned waterfowler or picking up a shotgun for the first time, we'll put you on birds.
The most popular migratory game bird in Texas. Fast-flying and abundant, dove hunts are fast-paced, social, and a great way to open the season.
Larger than the mourning dove and just as challenging. White-wings concentrate around sunflower and grain fields in late summer — action can be non-stop.
The earliest duck season in Texas. Blue-winged and green-winged teal pour through the Hill Country in September, offering exciting early-season waterfowl action.
Mallards, pintails, gadwall, and more migrate through Texas in force. We hunt flooded fields, stock tanks, and creek bottoms for a full waterfowl experience.
